Chorizo waiting to become tacos

We saw Land of the Lost this weekend. I used to watch the show as a kid, though I’m not nostalgic about it. Since we were with kids, it was a choice between Will Ferrell (who I like) and Up (I’m so tired of Pixar). During the scene in the Lost City, Chaka is trying to warn the people about the Sleestaks but they misunderstand him and think he is saying “chorizo tacos.” Check out the clip. To me this has a deeper significance. I mean, Chaka is saying Sleestak in his language, which comes out sounding something like “sarisataka, sarisataka,” and the goofy cracker character Will interprets it as chorizo tacos. Ferrell’s character asks, “Did you say chorizo tacos?” Then Will adds, “Don’t play around because I’m super hungry.”

I’m going to see if I can get in touch with the movie’s writers Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas and see what the heck they know about chorizo tacos.
